Fall Forrest
Sometimes I think I am not enjoying all that the seasons have to offer.
And not to forget that walks are 1: Decent exercise that you can enjoy while talking to friends. 2: You get to see much more than you usually would notice while struggling to run without dying (yeah, I am not that fit yet I am afraid).
Also really, fall colors are great and I wanted to see them before they disappear.
The last picture is of a restaurant that I didn't know was in the area. So my friend and I stopped in for a quick bite for lunch.
Smørrebrød, a danish open faced sandwich, was all they really offered so I had one of those along with a coke zero.
I know I should cut out soda completely, however I find it really hard and until I can find the willpower to do so sugarfree sound like a good compromise.

Monday
Ahhh monday, this day actually got off to a great start.
Now I am very lucky and I am currently in a flexible internship giving me time to also focus on my gym time.
I still have to put in the hours, but I am free to do so at my own discretion. This means that I am able to attend the yoga class just past noon at my local gym, and today I went to the gym, ran for 25 min straight (with 5 min warm up and cool down), giving me a distance of 4.85km. I am very happy that I am not as tired from that as I thought I would be.
I've also decided to call this day one, and giving a brief update each day, so I have something to keep track off.
Great start to the week, wouldn't you say?

Last week update
Last week was so and so in terms of what I did and what I should have done.
I started out really bad, but then got my behind dragged down to the gym and ran for the time I was supposed to and did some core exercises, I was right back there after a rest day and then.... WEEKEND! Which shouldn't mean that I shouldn't go to the gym, however due to events that just seemed to happen that is exactly what ended up happening.
At least my distance is up by almost 100% ;o)
Hence here I am, monday, ready to take the week on like this weekend didn't happen. Also I have some pretty awesome activities planned for this week! I will tell you guys all about it as they happen.
I wasn't bad as such, but I did end up eating more sushi than I was supposed to last night, it was yummy though!

Oktober - start
Well, I am not quite brave enough to post a picture of now - though I have it for later (who knows, maybe once I am brave).
I will however share my current stats for October.
This is where I start from (not too bad really) and hey, now I will have something for comparison in the future.

Moving change
Hi, I'm Nic.
I used to love running. Not that I was ever a competitive runner, but I liked moving, and I liked how I felt after running 7 kilometers.
Now don't misunderstand, when I say running, I may mean shuffling ahead at a leisurely speed, with the 7 kilometers taking 40-ish minutes.
I can't say what happened for sure. My theory is I moved in with my love and unfortunately there is no real nature around where we live. Running 3 - 5 - 7K in circles just isn't very inspiring and I became complacent in my new situation.
What all of this amounts to is:
1 - I have the fitness levels of a 90 year old (and no, not those inspiring grannies out there I am afraid), and can barely run for 30 min straight now (and lets not talk about how far I run doing that).
2 - the kilos just piled on. 10 to be exact. 1 kilo at a time, it creeped on until my jeans became muffintop tight and I had to replace them.
Mind you I have never been small. But I did used to be fit, and healthy and that is where I would like to get back to.
My blog is about my journey, not totally focused on exercise (although let's hope it figures largely into the equation), but about my life in general because it took changes to my lifestyle to get to where I am now, and it will take a change in lifestyle to get into a fitter me once again.
Talking about lifestyle changes I got to thinking about weekend candy (pick a day... I had it).
I used to be able to stock my fridge like this:
And my Friday or Saturday night was filled with a sweet tasting and lovely healthy fruit bowl. And to be honest, with the price of candy and chips, it is just as cheap to eat delicious fruit as it is to eat Haribo gummibears and Rittersport chocolate.
Here is to life changes!

| Very pretty park, but only around three minutes to run it. |
